Here’s a recap of some of the latest A/E/C mergers and acquisitions that have been announced in recent weeks.

August 22, 2018 – PRISM Spectrum Holdings (Pittsburgh, PA) acquired environmental engineering firm Copper Environmental Consulting (Anaconda, MT). “Copper’s expertise in remedial design and project consulting will help us diversify and compound our core service offerings, giving our customers a contractor with increased capacity, environmental and project management expertise, and service scope,” said PRISM CEO Shawn P. Regan.

August 28, 2018 – LandDev Consulting (Austin, TX) acquired civil engineering firm CivilE LLC (Austin, TX). The newly combined firm will operate as LandDev Consulting. The transaction signifies the firm’s expansion into the private and public civil engineering services within the Austin metro area.

August 28, 2018 – Stantec (Edmonton, Canada) has signed an LOI to acquire engineering firm True Grit Engineering (Ontario, Canada). “We have a longstanding relationship with True Grit Engineering and have experienced the quality work they deliver after partnering with them on a number of great projects. True Grit Engineering will increase our office presence in key markets, providing our clients and the local community with increased personal contact and a deep knowledge of issues impacting projects,” said Stantec Vice President Eric Wiens.

September 6, 2018 – S/L/A/M Collaborative (Glastonbury, CT) merged with architecture firm Frank Webb Architects (Los Angeles, CA). “FWA gains access to diversified geography and new resources, while SLAM gains a West Coast presence and our expertise in key markets. When you combine our talented teams, we are poised to take on even bigger and more complex projects,” said Frank Webb Architects President Gregory W. Coles.

September 11, 2018 – Bernhard Energy Solutions (Baton Rouge, LA) announced the acquisition of energy firm 8760 Engineering (St. Louis, MO). “8760 has an impeccable reputation in the Energy as a Service industry and establishes for Bernhard an excellent business foundation in St. Louis, Missouri while we continue our expansion across the country. We see this as an opportunity to grow Bernhard’s national presence while also adding talented, industry-leading professionals to our team,” said Bernhard CEO Ed Tinsley.

September 25, 2018 – CES Inc. (Brewer, ME) acquired civil engineering firm Bean, Whitaker, Lutz, and Kareh (Fort Myers, FL). "Well-known for its professional capabilities on land use and development projects in southwest Florida, BWLK maintains a high level of customer service that built solid long-lasting client relationships that will continue under CES," said CES President and CEO Denis St. Peter.

September 26, 2018 – Barton & Loguidice (Syracuse, NY) announced the acquisition of planning firm Steinmetz Planning Group (Rochester, NY). “Adding the planners from Steinmetz provides further depth to the municipal services we can provide our clients in all of the geographic areas we serve.” said John F. Brusa, Jr., P.E., Barton & Loguidice President & CEO.
