August 26, 2025 – Southfield, MI – Atwell, a national consulting, engineering, and construction services firm headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, announces the acquisition of Manhard Consulting, a nearly 400‑person engineering and surveying firm based in Lincolnshire, Illinois. This marks Atwell’s largest-ever acquisition in its history and significantly strengthens its land development, power & energy, and hydrocarbons capabilities while expanding its regional reach into Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Tennessee, and Nevada. With the acquisition, Atwell’s headcount grows to over 2,100 professionals.

August 20, 2025 – Houston, TX – HR Green, a multidisciplinary engineering and technical management consulting firm with roots in Houston, Texas since 1978, acquires Gauge Engineering, a full-service, Houston-based firm specializing in transportation and drainage engineering analysis, design, and construction management for public sector clients. This expansion strengthens HR Green’s Transportation and Water Resources services and deepens its local presence, with Gauge’s co-founders staying on as Practice Leaders for Texas Water Resources (Derek St. John) and Texas Transportation (Muhammad Ali).

August 20, 2025 – New York, NY – The Vertex Companies, LLC (VERTEX), a global professional services firm specializing in forensic consulting, construction project advisory, and regulatory support, announces the aqui-hire of ARCHforensic, LLC, an award-winning forensic architecture and engineering firm with over 30 years of experience. As part of the integration, Christopher D. Ling, AIA, NCARB, PP, LEEDap, has been appointed as VERTEX’s new Forensics Sub-Practice Leader, bringing over 40 years of construction industry expertise and experience advising on over 1,000 cases totaling more than $1 billion in claims. The entire ARCHforensic team has joined VERTEX, expanding its forensic and litigation capabilities across the Mid‑Atlantic region and beyond.

August 20, 2025 – Atlanta, GA – DLR Group, a global integrated design firm, welcomes Collins Cooper Carusi Architects (CCCA), an Atlanta‑based specialist in educational, civic, and on‑campus student housing design. This addition marks DLR Group’s strategic expansion into the Southeast, enhancing its higher education design expertise and establishing a permanent presence in Atlanta alongside its offices in Charlotte, Durham, Nashville, and Orlando. CCCA’s 40 design professionals will operate as DLR Group | Collins Cooper Carusi from their existing Atlanta location, with key principals joining DLR to ensure seamless leadership and client continuity.

August 13, 2025 – Vancouver, WA / Fort Collins, CO – MacKay Sposito, a multidisciplinary consultancy based in Vancouver, Washington, acquires Engineering Analytics Inc. (EA), a civil and environmental engineering firm headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, with offices in San Diego and Raton, New Mexico. This acquisition adds technical specialties including industrial and aerospace site remediation, mining, water resources, municipal infrastructure, and power and energy, while expanding MacKay Sposito’s Western U.S. footprint and service capabilities. EA's leadership will remain in key roles during integration.
