October 24, 2017 – Stephen George + Partners (London, UK) announced that healthcare architecture firm Enable by Design (Leeds, UK) became a part of their architectural practice. Explains Michael Barker, Managing Partner at Stephen George + Partners “The merger will also bring additional BIM skills to the SGP team, as the healthcare sector is more advanced than much of the private sector when it comes to the adoption and implementation of BIM.”
October 11, 2017 – Consulting engineering firm Garver (North Little Rock, AR) acquired Ruggles & Bohm (Wichita, KS), an engineering and design services firm. “The core values and vision for how we want to service clients have been almost identical between Garver and Ruggles & Bohm for decades, and neither of those will change as we continue to grow together,” said Garver President and CEO Dan Williams.
October 10, 2017 – Architecture, engineering, and planning firm Clark Patterson Lee (Rochester, NY) acquired architecture and engineering firm Moser Mayer Phoenix Associates (Greensboro, NC). “Not only do our two firms complement each other in terms of practice disciplines, but there are also amazing synergies in our market segments and company cultures as well - with a focus on work-life balance, client success and community involvement.” states Todd Liebert, AIA, CEO Clark Patterson Lee.
October 5, 2017 – CBRE Group (Los Angeles, CA) announced a definitive agreement to acquire Heery International (Atlanta, GA), the project management and design engineering business of the international infrastructure group, Balfour Beatty LLC. The purchase price is approximately $57 million. This reflects a multiple of approximately 6 times projected 2017 adjusted EBITDA attributed to the acquired Heery business, after giving effect for anticipated run-rate cost synergies as well as the net present value of expected tax benefits.
October 4, 2017 – Global design firm Perkins+Will (Chicago, IL) acquired sports, recreation, and entertainment architecture firm Sink Combs Dethlefs (Denver, CO). “The biggest driver behind the union of our two firms is the increasing focus on designing for ‘full-circle’ health and well-being—that is, giving people the opportunity to be active, fit, healthy, and happy at every point on the continuum of life experience,” says Perkins+Will CEO Phil Harrison.
