PSMJ Resources, Inc. – the global publishing, executive education, and advisory firm for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry – announced the addition of Jon Kessler to its team of consultants, providing sellside, buyside, and related advisory services to AEC firm owners and investors.
Jon provides advisory support to the mergers and acquisitions, valuation, and ownership transition practices at PSMJ. Jon brings to bear the depth and breadth of his 40+ years of diverse experience, which includes executive leadership, finance, strategic development, operations management, and public accounting, to assist clients in developing effective business growth, sustainability, transition, and exit strategies.
“From our first entry into AEC M&A advisory services many years ago, PSMJ has been completely focused on facilitating win-win transactions,” states PSMJ President Gregory Hart. “That often requires a broad skill set and willingness to think creatively in this people-based industry. Jon's financial, legal, and civil engineering background is the perfect fit for our culture and our guiding principles around mergers & acquisitions.”
Kessler began his career in public accounting at Ernst & Whinney, where he served as a Supervisor. He then spent over two decades as CFO of DAM Management LLC, building comprehensive financial and operational expertise. As CFO of Leisure Concepts Management Partners, Kessler continued to expand his strategic finance capabilities. Kessler's most recent tenure at Gannett Fleming (now GFT) spanned nearly 16 years, during which he progressed from Director of Finance to Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, ultimately serving as Executive Vice President, Director of Strategic Development, and a member of the Board of Directors. In these roles, Kessler led financial operations, strategic planning, and business development initiatives for a leading AEC firm. Currently, Kessler serves as Executive Director of the Design Finance Officers Group, where he provides leadership and resources to finance professionals across the design industry.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Delaware.
