September 10, 2026 - IMEG acquired Bennett Engineering, Inc. (Bennett Engineering) of Freeport, Maine, a multidisciplinary firm providing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, telecommunications, and lighting design services. PSMJ served as the exclusive sell-side advisor to Bennett Engineering in the transaction.
The acquisition gives IMEG its first office in Maine and deepens a New England presence that already includes locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. For Bennett Engineering, joining a national platform opens access to broader technical resources and a wider range of project opportunities while preserving the client relationships the firm has built over four decades.
Bennett Engineering's building systems capabilities in HVAC, fire protection, plumbing, electrical power distribution, telecommunications, and lighting complement IMEG's full-service engineering design offering, and the two firms share an emphasis on energy-efficient design and long-term staff development.
