November 16, 2021 – Kleinfelder (San Diego, CA) acquired Century Engineering (Hunt Valley, MD) and all affiliates. The transaction closed on November 15, 2021. “The Century acquisition fortifies Kleinfelder’s business in the Mid-Atlantic,” said Kleinfelder President and CEO Louis Armstrong. “This transaction aligns with our strategic direction and will accelerate growth across multiple market sectors and technical service lines.”

November 10, 2021 – Miller Legg (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) announced a partnership with The HFW Companies (St. Louis, MO) to enhance Miller Legg’s capabilities and continued growth. “This partnership will enrich Miller Legg’s commitment to our clients and communities while providing great opportunities for our employee family”, said Mike Kroll, Miller Legg President/CEO. HFW and its leadership team will be working hand in hand with Miller Legg to implement a variety of strategic growth plans.

November 8, 2021 – Consulting and engineering services firm Ardurra Group (Tampa, FL) acquired and merged with civil engineering firm Ritoch-Powell & Associates (Phoenix, AZ). Ardurra’s President & CEO Ernesto Aguilar stated “We knew from our first meeting that combining forces was something we needed to do. We share similar cultures, market strategies and a strong focus on client service. This was a no brainer! We are excited to continue building a special company with RPA.”

November 2, 2021 – Nelson/Nygaard announced that Connetics Transportation Group (CTG) has joined Nelson\Nygaard.

November 1, 2021 - Jacobs (Dallas, TX) entered into a definitive agreement to acquire BlackLynx (Rockville, MD), a provider of high-performance software. "As edge computing proliferates across all domains, rapidly gaining actionable insights from the vast volumes of data becomes essential," said Jacobs Chair and CEO Steve Demetriou. "BlackLynx's embedded analytics platform provides real-time AI and ML image and data classification in the cloud and at the edge”. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

November 1, 2021 – LaBella Associates (Rochester, NY) acquired Odell Associates (Charlotte, NC). “We are expecting quite a few joint projects to begin shortly,” stated Bradley Bartholomew, CEO of Odell. “These projects will showcase the synergy between LaBella and Odell, as well as the combined team’s enhanced ability to help our clients locally, nationally and internationally.”

November 1, 2021 – Watson Tate Savory Architects (Columbia, NC) merged with McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture (Spartanburg, SC). Watson Tate Savory will be joining under the McMillan Pazdan Smith name. McMillan Pazdan Smith CEO Chad Cousins stated “There’s a mutual admiration of the work that their team has created on behalf of their clients over the years.”

October 26, 2021 – Stantec (Edmonton, Canada) announced it has entered into share purchase agreements to acquire the North America and Asia Pacific engineering and consulting groups (“the Select Assets”) of Cardno Limited. Under the terms of the Acquisition, Stantec will acquire the Select Assets for aggregate cash consideration of US$500 million representing 9.4x the Select Assets’ 2022 expected pre-IFRS16 adjusted EBITDA post-synergies.

October 21, 2021 – Engineering and environmental firm Ransom Consulting (Portland, ME) acquired Civalier Engineering & Surveying (Wenonah, NJ). “For over 30 years, Ransom has been a trusted engineering and environmental leader providing local and regional expertise for our clients across New England and New Jersey,” said Ransom CEO Steve Ransom. “With the acquisition of Civalier Engineering in Wenonah, New Jersey, we are now adding civil engineering and surveying services to our existing mix of environmental consulting services.”

October 7, 2021 – Civil engineering firm Pape-Dawson Engineers acquired Dowdey, Anderson & Associates (Plano, TX). “Under the leadership of Bill Anderson and Michael Dowdey, DAA became the premier single family residential engineering firm in the Dallas-Forth Worth area,” said Gene Dawson, President of Pape-Dawson. “Combining our teams allows us to most effectively serve the needs of our collective Metroplex clients and our growing communities. Together we are number one in plats filed, in single family residential lots platted, and in total acres platted in the State of Texas.”

PSMJ’s M&A team initiated the transaction and advised Pape-Dawson Engineers.
