March 29, 2017 – Engineering, surveying, and planning firm Interstate Engineering (Jamestown, ND) acquired Ackerman Land Surveying (Wahpeton, ND).  “This deal brings together two great companies in the Wahpeton area and will ultimately bolster Interstate Engineering’s abilities to extend our professional land surveying services in North Dakota, South Dakota and Minnesota,” said Damon DeVillers, PE and President of Interstate Engineering.

March 14, 2017Pond (Peachtree Corners, GA), an engineering, architecture, planning, and construction firm, acquired Landmark Engineering (Jacksonville, FL).  “I am very excited about this important step forward in the growth of Pond and to announce that Pond’s Florida operations will be led by Nina Sickler, PE,” said Ron Osterloh, Pond Vice President, Transportation and Community Development.

March 13, 2017 Wood Group PLC (Aberdeen, Scotland) agreed to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Amec Foster Wheeler PLC (London, United Kingdom) in a deal valued at $2.7 billion.  Ian Marchant, Wood Group chairman, said the merger will create “a global leader in project, engineering, and technical services delivery across a range of industrial sectors.”

March 8, 2017 – Mechanical and electrical consulting engineering firm Vanderweil Engineers (Boston, MA) acquired The Procz Group (Langhorne, PA), a mechanical and electrical consulting firm specializing in healthcare facilities.  “The addition of TPG will not only greatly expand our presence in the healthcare market sector in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey metropolitan areas but will also be strategically aligned with our overall mission of serving as an industry leader in the design of healthcare facilities,” says Eli Sherman, President and CEO of Vanderweil Engineers.
