METAL ROOFING CHAMPIONSHIPS BIG HIT ON SHOW FLOOR The 1st Annual MCA Metal Roofing Championships caused quite a buzz on the show floor. On Wednesday and Thursday, attendees demonstrated their skills fastening screws into purlins, seaming standing seam panels, installing rubber roof jacks and placing PV clamps on a metal roof for their chance to win cash or product prizes. Start practicing now for the 2nd Annual MCA Metal Roofing Championships at next year’s 25th Anniversary METALCON event in Tampa!
LIFE SIZE "ME" BUILT LIVE ON THE SHOW FLOOR Students from the Emily Griffith Technical College's Welding Department treated METALCON attendees and exhibitors to a live demo on Friday on the show floor. Approximately 15 students worked swiftly to construct and weld METALCON's "ME" mascot from scrap pipe and metal from the college's workshop. As part of METALCON’s annual tradition of “giving back,” PSMJ generously presented a check for $1000 to benefit the college's scholarship fund. The Emily Griffith Technical College (EGTC) is the post-secondary arm of the Denver Public Schools, offering more than 50 training certificates and 13 trade apprenticeships.
METALCON MAKES SOCIAL MEDIA "IMPRESSION" For the second year in a row METALCON attendees had the opportunity to have a little fun at the “ME” booth. Attendees showed off their creativity while posing with “ME” and competed to win a $100 gift card for the photo with the most “likes.” This friendly competition, the social media recognition, and the location of the photo booth in the #meetME show managment booth garnered more than 10,000 impressions for the METALCON Facebook page with nearly 3,000 of those people engaging with the photos by liking, sharing, or commenting on the posts. Congratulations to one of our exhibitors, Melody Taylor with Valspar Corporation, for working her social media networks and generating the most likes for her photo.
