April 11, 2017 – Architecture and engineering firm Bergmann Associates (Rochester, NY) acquired nine-person design firm SPG 3 (Philadelphia, PA).  “Our mission statement is ‘Passionate about design, service and stewardship – our people strive to find solutions that help our clients succeed,’” said Sean O’Rouke, Vice President-Atlantic region for Bergmann.  He continued “We believe the team from spg3 will help serve our combined clients and partners with excellence and passion.”

March 31, 2017TRC Companies, Inc. (NYSE:TRR) announced that it has entered into a definitive merger agreement with affiliates of New Mountain Partners IV, L.P., an investment fund managed by New Mountain Capital (New York, NY), under which New Mountain will acquire TRC in an all cash transaction valued at $17.55 per share of common stock.  This represents a significant premium over the 90-day average.  “This transaction will deliver immediate value to our shareholders while enabling TRC to continue to pursue its long-term growth strategy,” said TRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Chris Vincze.

March 31, 2017 – Environmental and engineering services firm Trihydro Corporation acquired River City Engineering (Austin, TX).  The acquisition supports Trihydro’s continued expansion into Texas and enhances the company’s ability to serve the region with its environmental and engineering capabilities, including water and wastewater services.

March 31, 2017Hatch Ltd. (Mississauga, Ontario, Canada) announced that water, wastewater, environmental, and energy services firm Chester Engineers (Moon Township, PA) joined Hatch Ltd.  “Together, we will offer a broader range of services to clients, both within the U.S. and globally,” says Hatch’s CEO John Bianchini. “Chester’s history in water and infrastructure spans over 100 years.

March 30, 2017DIALOG (Vancouver, BC, Canada) and newstudio architecture (Edmonton, ALB, Canada) announced that they merged.  “There’s a lot of great things about this for both parties,” says newstudio partner Tyler Dixon. “We’re really passionate about the city. The merger will allow newstudio and DIALOG to extend our collective expertise further than we’d each be able to do on our own.”
